- I have no idea what your stats are since we (thankfully) haven't been to the good doc in awhile!
- You wear a Size 4 diaper, 12-18 month clothes, and a size 5 or 6 shoe.
- You generally get up around 7:30am, go down for a nap around 12 or 12:30pm, nap for 3 hours, and go to bed at 8:00 or 8:30pm. Sometimes you still need a morning nap if you get up too early. You're a scheduled boy.
- You're a hit and miss eater these days, but usually pretty good. You like bananas and pancakes, french toast, or apple nutrigrain bars for breakfast. You like chicken, green beans, sweet potatoes, black beans, and avocado. You love most fruit (especially grapefruit!) and eat mostly what we eat. I love watching you eat spaghetti. You are obsessed with goldfish. You drink about 20 ounces of milk a day and diluted juice and water and plain water the rest of the time.
- You got a molar on your bottom right this month and sleeping was a challenge when it was coming in. Poor guy.
- You are starting to approximate more words. You'll try to say almost anything we say and are actually successful some of the time. You say Momma, Da-da, bye bye (waving) and will repeat Buh (for Bo), cracker, fish, Puh (for up), peas (for please), and a few others that I'm sure I'm missing.
- You know the basic animal sounds and that for the wolf and owl (from one of your favorite books, Maddy The Alaskan Moose), you can pick out most of the animals/objects in the farm flashcards if we lay out 3 and ask you to pick up the animal/object, you like pointing out the animals in Brown Bear, and you know your eyes, nose, mouth, ears, and belly button.
- You love being outside. You love your sandbox, your swing, your horse tire swing, your slide, your pool, your basketball goal, your Cozy Coupe, and your sweet Radio Flyer trike.
- You are a fish! You love going to the pool and playing with water (faucet, water hose, bath, etc.).
- You like to put your finger to your lips and say "shh" and giggle. When Daddy prays and you try to talk, I "shh" you, and you always "shh" back. I can't help but laugh.
- If Daddy's on his back on the floor, you strain and "push" him to his belly, climb on his back and bounce up and down like you're a bronco rider. He gets up on all fours and crawls around with you on his back, and you shriek and giggle like it's an amusement park ride.
- When you get frustrated, you furrow your brows (like your Daddy), you throw what you're holding down, and you say something like "tuh" really sternly. Depending on the day, everything or nothing frustrates you.
- You really enjoy feeding Scout goldfish (she enjoys this, too).
- You have the funniest giggle, but your belly laugh is the best. It is infectious. I want to bottle it up and save it to medicate with during your teenage years.
- Our summer nanny decided to stay on permanently with us, and we are just thrilled. She loves you, and you love her. Y'all go to the park and the Discovery Center and sing and play. I'm so grateful that you're in such good hands.
- I feel conflicted when I think about you being 20 months. The time is rapidly approaching that I'll be counting your life in years not months. I find myself simultaneously wanting to hold on to your infancy as it slips away, pause this pretoddler stage, all the while eagerly anticipating the little boy you are becoming. There's no doubt this tug of war between reflection and anticipation is only beginning.
