22 weeks
We've hit the 5 month mark! We saw you again this week, and you were doing just dandy. Your heartbeat was 153bpm. You are moving a ton now--not only can I feel you at night, but during the day, too.
We are getting your furniture this weekend, and I can't wait to get it in your room. Keep growing!
This is what you were up to this week:
You have pretty much taken on the form of a newborn baby, but you are incredibly small. Much development will continue to occur over the next 18 weeks. Your skin appears wrinkly, but this is because you have not yet gained enough weight to fill the skin out. Your lips are becoming more distinct. Your eyes have completely formed, but the iris (the colored portion of the eye) still lacks pigment. Your eyelids and eyebrows are in place, and the pancreas is continuing to mature.
You are almost 10 inches long and weigh a whole 14 ounces.
These were my prayers for you this week:
That I would give you all the nutrition you need, that you would continue to grow as you are supposed to, that your kidneys are fine.
