You are 30.5 inches long (25-50%), weigh 24 pounds, 9.5 ounces (50%), and your head circumference is 18.75 inches (50-75%).
You wear 18 month tops and one pieces and 12 month bottoms. You wear a size 4 diaper and size 3 shoe (but you're just about to grow out of them).
You have two teeth that just cut through so you're up to six teeth.
You're really filling out more and looking more like a toddler than a baby. It makes me simultaneously proud and sad.
You say Da-Da and Daddy (over and over again). When I try to get you to say Momma, you look at me and smile and say Da-Da. You say a cross between TeeTee and GiGi for Mimi. You say BahBah for Momma. You say Buh for Bo. On Friday night you said cookie twice.
You're a steady walker and rarely crawl at all now.
This next week you're moving into a big boy car seat!
You drink somewhere between 16-20 ounces of milk (4 sippy cups). And great news...you're on your last box of hemp milk! This month I slowly started introducing dairy, and you've done great so I've been progressively introducing more. We started with string cheese, then full dairy yogurt, then whole milk. I've mixed it in an ounce at a time so it's been a slow process, but by the end of the week, you'll be on full strength whole milk. I am so glad MSPI is in the rear view mirror!
You've gotten a little more selective about eating this month, and you've become obsessed with throwing your food on the ground. This makes Scout happy, and Momma and Daddy mad. Generally you like oatmeal, fruit, nutrigrain bars, yogurt, eggs, and sausage for breakfast. Your favorite meats are turkey and chicken. You like sweet potatoes, edamame, black beans, mashed potatoes, avocadoes, tomatoes. You love fruit (all kinds). You like graham crackers, ritz crackers, mini Nilla wafers, and corn pops.
Your schedule is still going strong except you've been having a tough time at bedtime for about a week and a half. You get up around 7:30, have milk and breakfast, go down for a nap at 10 or 10:30 for about 2 hours. Have milk and lunch when you wake. Go down for your afternoon nap around 3:30 and sleep about 2 hours. Have milk and dinner when you wake up. Then have a bath and bed around 8pm.
Getting you to sleep at night has been a chore lately! You cry and cry when we put you down. We have to go back in several times, and it's taking you from 20 minutes to an hour to go to sleep. I hope this season passes soon; I hate that you're having such difficulty falling asleep.
{Pulling objects out and putting them back (shape sorter, blocks, Fisher price rings, nesting cups)...}
{Your cozy coupe car (getting in and out, in and out)...}
{Cartoons (the Cat in the Hat, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and Chuggington)...}
{Pulling out and putting back anything in the kitchen (pots and pans, pyrex, cup towels, strainers)...}
{Carrying around balls and throwing them down...}
Sitting down and looking through books on your own,
Playing with your Little People farm set,
Picking on Scout,
Throwing down food from the table,
Splashing really big in the bath,
Playing and squealing on the couch.
We've really gotten spoiled with your good sleep habits. It's been so long since you've fussed when we put you down for naps or put you down at night, and it's been even longer since you've routinely gotten up in the middle of the night, but ever since last Thursday night, sleeping has been a challenge. I'm guessing it's because you haven't felt good and you're cutting teeth. You insist on falling asleep in our arms (which is precious, and I'm not complaining), but then you wake up and cry once we try to put you in your crib. Monday morning you were up at 4am. We couldn't get you back to sleep so we just got up, made some coffee, and turned on some Mickey Mouse. That did the trick. Mickey put both of us back to sleep...
If I've learned anything these past 14 months it's that things change pretty often with you so maybe your sleeping will be back on track before we know it!
You guessed it, another road trip to the farm! Momma had a CLE in Lubbock all day on Friday so we headed that way Thursday night so Mimi could keep you while Momma went to class. I think you catnapped on the way to the farm so you were not interested in going to bed Thursday night. Mimi stayed up with you until you were sleepy, and you finally went to bed at 11pm. But...you were up again at 1:30am. I'm sure it's because you were sick. You were up from 1:30-5:30am. Whew...felt like the old days when your tiny infant body just would not let you sleep!
{Tearing up one of Pop's horse magazines}
On Saturday we made a quick road trip to Wichita Falls to see cousin Bri play some hoops. She had a hot hand so we really got to see her perform! You were more interested in staying in Pop's arms than in watching the game...
We headed back to our house on Saturday night. You were happy to play with Daddy and ride in your car most of the night...
On Sunday we were back at our church for the first time in a couple of weeks, and Ms. Willie had missed you! We played the rest of the day and enjoyed being at home.
We went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago for your cough, but it's been hanging around so I ran you to the doc to get you checked out. Hopefully I don't get my Mommy card revoked: you had an ear infection in your right ear, a fever, and were wheezing enough that she thought you needed breathing treatments. On top of that, you're cutting two teeth. Bummer!
You did not like the breathing treatment in the office, but when you got to sit in Daddy's lap and watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, you didn't think it was so bad...
We were back on the road again this weekend! The Aggie men played Tech in Lubbock so we got up on Saturday morning, dropped you off with Mimi at the farm (thank you, Mimi!), and met the McPherson's for some Chipotle before the game. Close game, but the Ags managed to get a W.
We hung out at the farm that afternoon then Daddy and I got to have a fun dinner with your uncles and aunts for Aunt Jen's birthday. It was fun to get out and visit! We usually have 7 kiddos around us so we got a lot of talking done without all of you! If you have siblings, I hope y'all have as much fun together as we do!
We went to church on Sunday and had to snap some pics beforehand...
Then it was back to the farm for lunch (where Mimi finally made a red velvet cake with Mammaw's yummy icing!!) and some swinging with Pop and your cousins...
Then it was on the road for home. Scout thought she'd ride in your lap, but you were a little upset about it...
Bo's Valentine's loot from Momma and Daddy and Mimi and Pop...
A quiet dinner in...
Now that's a great Valentine's for 3!
What is up with the price of cards these days? Here's a little romance...The One and I went to the store to buy Valentine's cards for Bo and one another. The cards for each other were $3.99 each! Sheesh. So we pulled a fast one on Hallmark and exchanged cards in the aisle, read the sweet sentiments, and promptly put them back on the shelf. Z's=1. Hallmark=0.
