Here's what you're up to:
- You're 30 inches long and 22 pounds 10 ounces.
- You wear 12 month clothes, a size 4 diaper, and size 3 shoes.
- You take about 20-24 ounces of milk a day (four 5-6 ounce sippy cups). You'll pretty much eat anything though your favorites are: oatmeal, apple cinnamon Nutrigrain bars, chicken, turkey, edamame, black beans, sweet potatoes, bananas, pears, Ritz crackers, and Nilla wafers.
- You're still rockin' along with your schedule...wake around 7:30am, have a sippy cup of milk then breakfast, nap around 10am for a couple of hours, sippy cup and lunch between 12-1pm, nap again around 3:30-4pm for 1.50-2 hours then a sippy cup of milk on waking, dinner around 6pm, bath around 7:45pm, and bedtime around 8pm. The length of your naps isn't always consistent, though you usually nap for at least 4 hours total a day.
- You have 2 bottom teeth and your two top front teeth finally broke through! You had a rough night-waking week right before Christmas, and we were wondering what was going on, but lo and behold...you were teething!
- Your evening routine has varied a little bit. We start reading books in the living room about 7:30pm, then we do bath time, then pray together, then whoever is putting you to bed (we usually alternate) reads you a Bible story and a bedtime book while you finish your milk. After that, it's lights out with a couple of songs and rocking. You almost never fall asleep in our arms anymore.
- You got rid of your paci the first week of December, and you haven't looked back! What a big boy!
- Other than your name, we generally call you "Pooka" or "buddy".
- You cruise along furniture like a champ, you are good with your walker, and you can stay standing for a little bit without any help, but you are not interested in walking on your own yet!
- You are a FAST crawler. And you LOVE to crawl with things in your hands (your Fisher Price stackable rings, balls, or the silverware holders in "your" kitchen drawer).
- You are also not interested in talking. You are quite verbal, but you still don't outright call us Momma and Daddy yet (though you can repeat those words and point to us when we ask you "where's momma?", etc.). You look at us and talk with a serious look like we know what you're saying; I can't wait to actually understand all the babble.
- You are still into toys...you like your cozy coupe car, your Laugh and Learn house, balls, little cars, books, and your soft tool set. You're a big fan of the remote, measuring cups, tupperware, and toilet paper rolls as well.
- When we get in our alley, I take you out of the car seat, and you are always so excited and turn around to find Daddy (I sit in the back with you STILL while Daddy drives). You have the biggest grin on your face.
- You are so quick to smile, and it takes very little effort to make you giggle.
- You give slobbery, open mouth kisses to pretty much anyone who asks.
- You love to touch Scout, and if she makes the slightest movement in response, you think it's so funny.
- You are a ham. You are always making sure people are watching you, and you crack yourself up.
Then and now:
A Year Ago (1 month old)
Today (13 months old)
ahhh! i can remember that little body in the hospital... oh i can't believe it's been 13 months! way to go Bo! you are a eating/drinking champ... maybe you can give Claire tips on how to do all that, because she's gotten a little too big for her britches and is sometimes sassy at meal times, but she's still mostly sweet. i bet she'd help you too, in exchange, with the walking/talking bit... you're lookin' good little guy. gig'em!!
