Your cousin, Bronte, arrived on Monday! I'm so glad you'll have a cousin near your age. You'll probably be in different grades (since you're a summer baby, I imagine we'll "red shirt" you), but you'll have lots of fun, I'm sure! He's having a little trouble and is in the NICU; we sure hope he comes home soon!
Your daddy and I have been furiously thinking about what we'll do with your brother's room and a nursery and already can't wait to see if you are a 'him' or a 'her'! We get to see you on an ultrasound machine tomorrow!
Here's what you're up to this week (6 weeks):
You're about the size of a lentil, a quarter of an inch long. Your nose, mouth, and ears are beginning to take shape. Your heart is beating about 100 to 160 times a minute and blood is beginning to course through your body. Your intestines are developing, and the bud of tissue that will give rise to your lungs has appeared. Your pituitary gland is forming, as are the rest of your brain, muscles, and bones.
These were my prayers for you this week:
That our ultrasound goes great, and you are implanted where you need to be for us to keep you. That you have a strong heartbeat that we're able to see.
