Fall is officially here, and we took advantage of it by going to
the Canyon this weekend. It was gorgeous. It was a bit windy, but we were grateful for the cool air because it would have been too hot otherwise. The Coles passed down a backpack to put you in, and it worked perfectly. You looked around, played with Daddy's hair, and then got tuckered out and went to sleep. You were such a good boy.
We took the
Triassic Trail, which starts out as the CCC trail. It's not on the park map, but it's a beautiful hike.
We started at the Visitor's Center Parking Lot and hiked along the ridge to a Table Rock that overlooks the Amphitheater. Here's the view of the ridge from where we started:

We made it to the Table Rock after about an hour, and it was worth it.
You just couldn't stay awake any longer.
You woke up for the end though. It was a great hike. We'll have to do more of it this fall.
