Dear Bo, You're 19 months old...

Here's what you're up to:
  • You weigh 27 pounds 6 ounces and are 32 1/4 inches long.  You wear size 18 months old clothes, a size 4 diaper, and size 5-6 shoes.
  • You are still on a great schedule.  You get up around 7am, have milk while you watch cartoons, have a snack around 10am, eat lunch with milk around noon, take around a 3 hour nap and have juice and a snack when you wake, have supper and milk around 6pm, have a bath around 8pm, then have milk and go to bed.
  • You have "on days" and "off days" eating.  If you're "on", anything goes for eating.  If you're "of", well, nothing works.  In general, you like bananas and french toast sticks, pancakes, oatmeal, and apple nutrigrain bars for breakfast.  For lunch and dinner, you like protein (fish sticks, chicken, edamame, and black beans), a veggie (carrots, green beans), starches (mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes), and a fruit (grapes, blueberries, mandarin oranges, pears).  You love goldfish, raisins, fruit snacks, Ritz crackers, graham crackers, and cheerios for snacks.
  • Your bedtime routine is:  take a bath around 8pm, read 3 books while you have milk, rock and sing, then get in your crib.
  • You say Momma and Da-da, and can repeat cookie, cracker, bye-bye, Buh (for Bo).  You aren't very verbal though.  You point and grunt, but you don't do much more than that.  But...you have great fine motor skills (which is what we still focus on  :-) ).
  • You love Cat in the Hat, Curious George, and Super Why.
  • You like pop up, lift the flap, push-the-button-noise, and Sandra Boynton books.
  • You got a new grill and tool set from the Browns, and you love them.
  • You love to sit on Daddy and bounce like crazy.
  • You want to push anything with buttons and lights...remotes, phones, the alarm...everything.
  • Everything is a telephone.  You love to "talk on the phone".
  • You're obsessed with closing doors and turning faucets on.
  • You love to be tickled.
  • You love the swing set, slide, and balls of any kind.
  • You are a mischevious little guy.  You swing your arms and just look for trouble.
  • You grin and "dance"--shaking your shoulders forward and backwards.
  • You're just plain fun.  We have loved chasing you around this summer.
  • You are a grinning, giggling little boy.  Love it.  Love you.

Dear Bo, Weekend review (without pictures)...

We had an uneventful weekend (thankfully).  This was the final week of the clerkship at work so Daddy and I had several evening activities.  Thus, we decided to have a family date night at home on Friday night.  It was a great night.

I planned on going to work on Saturday, but I made an impromptu trip to Lubbock to visit friends with personal (or family) health struggles instead, and I'm so glad I did.  Boy, do I often take for granted my own or your health (which is a sad, sad thing since you struggled so early on).  That evening we had a couple and their son over for dinner.

It was ridiculously hot on Sunday so we just stayed in and had a little family day.  Kind of boring, but pretty much how we like it.  Great weekend.

Dear Bo, Father's Day weekend review...

Friday:  Momma and Daddy had a work dinner so you and the new nanny (who we all 3 love!) had a date night.  Fun was had by all.

Saturday:  You and Daddy had a play date while Momma worked a few hours then we all hung out at the pool until it was bathtime.  Great day.

Sunday:  We walked to church then came home and took some pictures in our Sunday best.
 You took a nap while Daddy and I cooked steaks on the grill.  Yum!  We spent the afternoon outside and played and played until bedtime.
{You played in the pool.}
{Played peek-a-boo.}

{Read your Kindle to Scout.}
{Rode your tricycle.}
{And snuggled with Daddy.}

It was a great weekend celebrating your daddy.

Dear Bo, We had a great day celebrating your daddy,

He's so crazy about you, and you're so crazy about him.  I can't tell who is luckier out of the two of you.

But I'm certain of this...I'm the luckiest out of the three of us.

Love you boys to the moon and back...

Dear Bo, It's that time again!

Concerts in the park are back!  They look a little different this year.

{There's still a little bit of playing on the blanket.}
 {But there's also sticks to be picked up.}
 {Sword fights to be had.}
 {Books to be read.}
 {And the age old game of wandering off until Daddy comes and gets you...}

 Looking forward to a summer full of these!

Dear Memory Bank, CLE in DFW (Part II of II)

On Thursday, I spent the day at class, while the boys hung out in the room and walked around.
{Bo at the water gardens.}
We met at the pool for lunch, then I returned to class while the boys napped.  Later that night, we met the Brown's for dinner.  Bo and The One went to stay the night with them while I shopped a bit and had a girls' night out.
 On Friday, I finished class while the boys went to the park and swam at the Brown's.

 We all met for dinner and spent the rest of the weekend playing in the water, playing Domino's, going to soccer games, and enjoying each other.  I was terrible about taking pictures.  In fact, the only other pictures I have are ones my niece and nephew took at Brileigh's soccer game (the Cole's were in town for a tournament)...

  All in all, it was a great trip.  Bo adapted well to a varied schedule, and we all survived the heat.  Another fun set of memories!
