Dear Baby 2, You're doing just great...

I posted this a day late because we went to the doctor today.  We saw you, and you're great!  Though the machine in the doctor's office isn't fancy, we were able to make out your spine, your legs, your arms, and your eyes.  You wouldn't give us a peek between your legs so we won't know what you are until next time (hopefully).  I was hopeful we would know today, as the doctor told us your brother was a boy at 10 weeks.  Maybe next time!  Your heartbeat was 154bpm (your brother's was 160bpm at this stage).  I've been having dreams that you are a girl, but since your heartbeat is tracking your brother's so closely, it makes me think you are a boy.  We'll know soon enough!

Here's what you're up to this week (13 weeks):
You are almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weigh nearly an ounce.

Fingerprints have formed on your tiny fingertips, your veins and organs are clearly visible through your still-thin skin, and your body is starting to catch up with your head — which makes up just a third of your body size now. If you're a girl, you now have more than 2 million eggs in your ovaries.

These were my prayers for you this week:

That you and your brother are buddies; that you not only love each other (because that's just what family does), but that you genuinely like each other.  Oh, man, I pray for that.
